Fatal Crash on SC-390 Stuns Ipira Community
A 31-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday after a
head-on collision between his BMW S1000 RR and a Renault Sandero on SC-390 in Ipira, Santa Catarina.
Police said the rider crossed into the opposite lane on
a curve and struck the car driven by a 30-year-old woman, who was unharmed.
Impact and Investigation
The motorcycle was “unrecognizable” after the crash, highlighting the force of the impact.
While alcohol was ruled out, the premature removal of the Sandero from the scene may complicate the investigation.
Community and Safety Concerns
Friends plan a memorial ride as locals demand stronger safety measures on SC-390,
a road known for sharp curves and speeding risks despite recent improvements.
A Broader Issue
Motorcycle crashes remain a major concern in Brazil, often linked to speed and limited protective gear.
