Lent invites us to focus on Christ’s sacrifice: “Keep your gaze fixed on the outstretched arms of Christ crucified, let yourself be saved again and again.” Jesus’ Passion is not just history—it is alive through the Holy Spirit, allowing us to encounter Him in those who suffer. Prayer is essential during Lent, not as a duty but as “an expression of our need to respond to the love of God that always precedes and sustains us.” True prayer softens our hearts and leads us to conversion.
