Sharon Osbourne Granted Ozzy’s Final

Ozzy Osbourne Dies at 76, Surrounded by Family

Legendary rock singer Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 at age 76, “surrounded by love,” according to his family. He had battled Parkinson’s disease since 2019, a degenerative brain condition that affected his legs but not his voice. “Parkinson’s is a progressive disease… it’s affected his legs,” Sharon Osbourne said, adding, “But his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”

A Final Wish: Back to His Roots

Before his death, Ozzy’s final wish was to return to his hometown in Aston, UK. Sharon Osbourne organized the “Back to the Beginning” benefit concert, where Ozzy performed with Black Sabbath and other legendary bands like Metallica and Guns N’ Roses. The event raised $189 million for charity.

Sharon shared, “The only place that we could do it would have been Aston, because that’s where Ozzy was born and grew up.” She added, “It became a celebration of the music. All the generations are going to be there that Sabbath and Ozzy have passed the torch down to.” Ozzy himself told the crowd, “You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Tributes Pour In

After his passing, Ozzy’s family released a statement: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey… He was with his family and surrounded by love.” They also asked for privacy during this time.

Legacy and Loss

Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon, children Aimee, Kelly, Jack, Jessica, Louis, and several grandchildren. Aston Villa, his childhood football club, paid tribute: “Ozzy always held a special connection to the club and the community he came from.”
