Restaurant Is In Big Trouble After Put

Viral Steakhouse Sign

Diners at Corralito Steak House in El Paso, Texas,

were shocked by a sign blaming staff shortages on “government handouts.”

The notice read: “Sadly, due to government handouts, no one wants to work anymore…

Please be patient with the staff that did choose to come to work today.”

Backlash Online

Veronica Frescas, who spotted the sign, posted a photo online, calling it offensive.

“There could’ve been a better way to say something…

it didn’t seem like it was very El Paso strong,” she said. The post quickly went viral, sparking outrage.

Hypocrisy Claims

Critics noted the steakhouse itself received nearly $1 million in federal Paycheck Protection Program funds,

accusing the business of hypocrisy for taking aid while mocking others who did the same.

Calls for Higher Wages

Texas Restaurant Association’s Leo Duran argued restaurants must adapt: “If you’re going to survive, you’ve got to compete, and wages are really the baseline of what employees are interested in.”
