Donald Trump promises to give $2,000

Trump’s $2,000 Dividend Promise Sparks Doubt

President Donald Trump has promised Americans a “dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!)”

from tariff revenue, but many are questioning whether it’s realistic.

He offered no timeline or details about eligibility.

On Truth Social, Trump declared, “People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS! We are now the Richest,

Most Respected Country In the World… Record Investment in the USA.”

However, economists and analysts warn the plan faces major obstacles.

Erica York noted that if adults earning under $100,000 qualify, “150M adults would qualify,

for a cost near $300 billion,” while tariffs have only raised about $90 billion so far.

Legal challenges also threaten Trump’s tariff program—

three lower courts have ruled his use of emergency powers illegal.

If overturned, any payout plan would collapse.

For now, Trump’s promised dividend remains uncertain—and likely too good to be true.
