Chilling Warning From 1965 Comes True

A Voice from the Past

In 1965, radio broadcaster Paul Harvey delivered a powerful warning in a speech titled “If I Were the Devil.”

His fictional monologue imagined what the devil might do to corrupt America from within.

The Devil’s Strategy

“If I were the devil … I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness,” Harvey said.

He’d attack the U.S. by undermining churches, spreading moral confusion, and convincing people that “what’s bad is good, and what’s good is ‘square.’”

Cultural Collapse

Harvey warned of media corruption, drug abuse, and breakdowns in family and school discipline, saying, “I’d soon have families at war with themselves… and nations at war with themselves.”

A Chilling Prophecy

He foresaw God being removed from public life, rising materialism, and devalued traditions like marriage.

“I would caution against extremes in patriotism and moral conduct,” he added. Decades later, many believe his eerie vision has become reality.
