Couple Shows Honesty When Treasure Inside Mc

A Breakfast Surprise

Stacey Terry and her husband from Tennessee stopped at their local McDonald’s one morning expecting a usual breakfast.

But when Stacey handed over their order, she noticed the bag felt oddly heavy.

Instead of food, it was filled with thousands of dollars in cash — a deposit that had accidentally been handed to them through the drive-thru.

A Swift Decision

The Terrys were already miles away when they opened the bag and discovered the mistake.

Many might have been tempted to keep it, but not them.

“As soon as he stated that it was their deposit, my first instinct was to get in the car and let’s take it back,” Stacey told News 5. “With that, I couldn’t live with myself.”

Returning the Money

Back at McDonald’s, the employee who made the error was visibly upset.

“She was shaken, you know, very upset, visibly upset she should have been because it could have been anybody,” Stacey recalled. McDonald’s management publicly thanked the Terrys, saying, “We appreciate this customer and the steps they took after recognizing our mistake,” and promised to investigate how the mix-up happened.

Doing the Right Thing

The Terrys didn’t want anyone to lose their job and believed it was an honest mistake. Their actions have been praised by the community and serve as a powerful reminder that honesty still exists. Though they expect no reward, their good deed has left a lasting impression. In Stacey’s words, “There’s no other way to have it, you know.”
