Jenna Ortega is pretty much impossible not to adore.

She’s been dazzling everyone with her roles, from the quirky Wednesday Addams to her involvement in the Scream series, and now, she’s about to charm us all over again in Beetlejuice 2.

Rihanna, who’s been a bit MIA on the new music front, was nominated for her song “Lift Me Up” from the movie Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever.

Jenna mentioned, “I’m gonna get to original song in a minute, we got artists like Taylor Swift and Rihanna competing for that award,” sparking excitement among the audience.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

A TikTok user, @sugeneshin_, with a keen ear, noticed Jenna pronounced Rihanna’s name differently from what most people are used to.

They shared a video about this revelation, and it quickly became a hot topic.

Turns out, many of us have been saying Rihanna’s name wrong all this time, and the comments section was filled with people confessing they were in the same boat.

So, how do we know Jenna’s pronunciation was correct?

Well, Fenty Beauty, Rihanna’s makeup brand, chimed in on the TikTok post, endorsing Jenna’s pronunciation with: “Miss Wednesday understood the assignment.”

And if that wasn’t enough, Rihanna herself confirmed in an interview with Showbiz Tonight that ‘Ree-an-nah’ is indeed the correct pronunciation.

Another shared, “Dang…so I’ve been saying her name wrong my whole life?!! I feel embarrassed now. I had NO idea that was how you correctly pronounce her name!”

And a third added: “Now everyone is gonna pronounce the way she said rihannas name after seeing this video.”

Meanwhile a fourth commented: “Damn i always said ree-aw-nuh not ree-ah-nuh.”

Some even predicted that everyone would start pronouncing Rihanna’s name the Jenna Ortega way after seeing the video.

And of course, there were those who claimed they’d been saying it right all along.

Interestingly, several people mentioned that pronunciation often varies globally, with many Brits saying they’ve been pronouncing it correctly, similar to Jenna.

Adding a fun fact to the mix, some pointed out that Rihanna’s first name is actually Robyn – a little tidbit for those who might not know.
