My MIL Always Hated Me for No Reason, but
1. A Life of Rejection
I’ve known rejection all my life. My mother vanished after losing custody, and my father only kept me out of spite. At 18, he told me to leave and never come back. Alone and unwanted, I met Rob—my anchor, my love, my family. But his mother, Carla, hated me instantly. “She did everything in her power to make my life miserable.”
2. A Dying Wish
Years passed, and Rob remained loyal to both of us. One day, he came home devastated—Carla was terminally ill. When we visited, Carla whispered, “I want you to move in with me. I can’t do this on my own.” Rob agreed without hesitation, even though we were planning a baby. I was heartbroken.
Later, Carla gave me a motel key and a note: “I’m sorry.” She told me to go in three days.
3. The Hidden Truth
At the motel, I found a voicemail from Carla. “I hated you long before you met Rob… Your mother stole the man I loved—your father. I helped him get full custody just to ruin her life. Now, I’ll destroy your marriage.” Horrified, I rushed to tell Rob—but when we returned, the message had been replaced with a sweet apology.
Rob didn’t believe me. “Accusing my mom of faking an illness? That’s too far.”
4. Justice and Closure
Desperate, I brought my estranged father to confront Carla. He confessed: “Carla was my lawyer. She helped me take Elison from her mother out of revenge.” Rob turned to his mother, furious. “I nearly destroyed my marriage because of you!” He left Carla behind for good.
Now, Rob and I are rebuilding. Carla is gone from our lives—and this time, for good.
