1. A Family Divided
After Dawn’s father dies, her life falls apart. Her older sister Charlotte, who “never really cared,” evicts her just two weeks after the funeral. “You heard me, little sister,” Charlotte sneers. “I no longer feel the need to be your babysitter.”
