MY SON AND HIS WIFE TOLD ME I’M

At 75, I proudly wear red lipstick, a symbol of my vibrant energy. But recently, my son Stephen and his wife Sarah criticized me for it, calling me a “desperate old clown” and suggesting I dress like others my age. Hurt and angered, I decided to teach them a lesson. At the annual block party, I dressed in a bold red dress, hat, and bright makeup, and even became the parade’s grand marshal. When Stephen and Sarah saw me, they were shocked. After the parade, I confronted them, explaining that life is too short to follow others’ expectations and that self-expression matters more than their judgments. They apologized, realizing their mistake and acknowledging my right to stay true to myself, no matter my age. The lesson was clear: it’s about respecting who I am, not conforming to others’ standards.
