North Carolina Mother, Fiancé, and Her Two Young Sons Die While Fleeing Hurricane
On September 27, 2024, Hurricane Helene claimed the lives of Alison Wisely, her sons Felix and Lucas, and her fiancé Knox Petrucci. Fleeing from rising floodwaters in Green Mountain, North Carolina, their car became submerged. After abandoning the vehicle, the family was swept into the Toe River and perished.
Alison’s body was found on October 4 in Tennessee, with Felix and Lucas recovered the next day. Knox’s body was located on October 7, reuniting the family for burial.
Alison was remembered as a devoted mother and Sanctuary Operations Manager, known for her wisdom and love. Knox, a beekeeper and artist, was passionate about nature. Felix, 9, was curious about supernatural folklore, while Lucas, 7, was known for his humor and love of superhero costumes.
Knox’s sister Briana expressed deep sorrow, calling Felix and Lucas “brightest, magical, funniest little souls.” Lance Wisely, Alison’s former partner, thanked Knox for his love and praised Alison as a brilliant mother.
The Taylor family in Georgia also lost two children, Derrick and Harmony, when a tree fell on their home. Both families have received overwhelming community support through donations and tributes.
