NJ Nurse Sues Hospital After Dispute Over Doctor’s Kirk Remarks
New Jersey nurse Lexi Kuenzle, 33, is suing Englewood Health, claiming she
was punished after challenging a doctor who allegedly celebrated the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kuenzle says bariatric surgeon Dr. Matthew Jung told staff and a patient,
“I hate Charlie Kirk. He had it coming.
He deserved it.” She recalls replying,
“You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?”
Jung later tried to smooth things over by offering to buy lunch, she alleges.
The next day, Kuenzle was suspended without pay after reporting the remarks and posting online.
Her lawsuit accuses the hospital of discrimination, retaliation for her Christian faith, and fostering a hostile workplace.
Englewood Health said both Kuenzle and Jung were suspended, stressing, “Contrary to certain media reports, the nurse was not fired.” GOP activist Scott Presler defended her, questioning whether Jung could treat patients fairly.
