Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan Dies at 71
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, died at 71 from cardiac arrest early Thursday at his home in Clearwater, Florida. TMZ Sports reported that “multiple police cruisers and EMT units” responded, but Hogan was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.
Though he had recently undergone neck surgery and was rumored to be in poor health, his wife Sky denied those claims, insisting he was “healing like a warrior.” Sadly, the heart that defined a generation of fans finally gave out.
The Rise of Hulkamania
Hogan didn’t just enter wrestling — he transformed it. He burst onto the WWF scene in 1979, quickly becoming a global star with his massive physique, iconic mustache, and energy. His 1984 win over The Iron Sheik launched “Hulkamania,” and his message was clear: “Train, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, and believe in yourself!”
He headlined eight of the first nine WrestleManias, famously body-slamming André the Giant in front of 93,000 fans — a moment etched in sports entertainment history.
From Hero to Villain
In 1996, Hogan shocked fans by turning heel, forming the NWO with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The crowd responded with boos and trash. “Hollywood” Hogan was born, and WCW dominated ratings. This reinvention made him relevant in a darker, edgier era. Hogan didn’t just adapt — he led.
