Two Dallas Girls Killed in Texas Floods
Two young girls from Dallas, Lila Bonner (9) and Eloise Peck (8), were confirmed dead after flash floods struck Central Texas on July 4, 2025. The best friends were attending Camp Mystic in Kerr County when the floodwaters hit. Their tragic deaths have left families grieving and communities mourning.
Bonner’s family confirmed her passing on July 5. The next day, Peck’s family released a statement asking for privacy. In a heartfelt message, Peck’s mother said, “Eloise was literally friends with everyone… She had a family who loved her fiercely for the 8 years we were blessed to have her. Especially her Mommy.”
Alive11 reporter Kaitlyn Ross shared, “She passed away alongside her best friend and cabinmate, Lila Bonner, who also lost her life.”
Third Girl Still Missing
A third Dallas camper, Hadley Hanna, remains missing as of July 6. The three girls were among several children unaccounted for after the floods, prompting widespread rescue efforts.
OKCM Search and Rescue posted updates on Facebook, sharing: “11 Campers & 1 counselor still unaccounted for from Camp Mystic. Please keep praying. Search operations continue.”
Community Response
The news shocked many. Friends, families, and strangers across Texas flooded social media with messages of hope and sorrow. Michelle Meals, a local resident, wrote, “One of my sweet clients – her daughter is best friends with Eloise Peck… Praying each little girl is found.”
